Creating handmade paintings from photos: In the past, royal families and aristocrats used to have portraits of their families hung in their houses. In recent years, this has become a hot trend, as it is now affordable artwork that almost each and everyone of us can afford. One of the reasons that made it so affordable and available is the internet, which allows us to upload an image to a website that offers those handmade portraits, and a week later we can see online how our handmade painting looks like. Then, we can ask for modifications if we want, change background, eliminate objects etc. The main difference between past portraits and the custom paintings I'm talking about here, is that in the past one had to pose for hours in front of the painter, while now, all you need is choose your favorite photograph and upload it to a website. Your photo will be downloaded in a studio somewhere on earth, and will be projected on the canvas so that the painter can draw the contour of the figures, so that the proportions will be perfect. After he or she drew the contour, they simply print your image on a bigger paper and start creating layers of oil over the canvas. Some of the websites will offer a variety of mediums such as: pastel, charcoal, pencil, watercolor and acrylic. It's a beautiful and unique gift idea for all of you who are looking for something special for the coming holiday season. Enjoy. |
